Tadashi Tadokoro is a character from the Near Future chapter, The Outsider. He is Akira and Kaori's deceased father, and the captain of a riot police squadron.

Appearance[]
As a riot police officer, Tadashi wears their standard uniform, including a black armored suit, a visored helmet, and white gloves and shoes. In the remake, he is distinguished from his peers by his raised visor, revealing his eyes.
Personality[]
From what little is known of him, Tadashi is shown to be an upstanding man, with a belief in justice and a strong sense of compassion. As a child, Akira looked up to him as a hero for the sacrifices he had made.
History[]
The Near Future: The Outsider[]
As the captain of the riot police, Tadashi and his men were assigned to the lead the fight against the Crusaders, an anarchist biker gang, and their leader, Kenichi Matsui. The two groups would regularly meet in altercations across the city. On the night of Tadashi's death, he and Matsui confronted each other down by the city docks. Tadashi demanded Matsui surrender, but Matsui simply called him General Yamazaki's lap dog. Regretful, Tadashi drew his gun and prepared to shoot Matsui, but the biker shot first. As he lay dying, Akira, also down by the docks, ran to him and cried out as Matsui ran away.
Following Tadashi's death, Matsui stepped down as the leader of the Crusaders, and watched over Akira and Kaori in Tadashi's stead.
Etymology[]
In Japanese, the name Tadashi means "right, correct or accurate". The name Tadashi is most often used as a boy name or male name.
